Forest City ComiconTwitter
It was the first year for this con, in my hometown and my expectations weren't that high. No event in London(aside from concerts and games) has been overly busy in my experience so I was expecting a small con with time to hang out with friends and fellow con goers. Boy was I surprised! Within fifteen minutes of the con opening, people were flooding in as fast as the volunteers could get them checked in! Soon the main floor was packed! WonderBoyCosplay
and I wore our Jubilee and Kitty Pryde to the con and got a great response! Always makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside
Through out the course of the day, I managed to help where I could(And got a surprise call up on stage to help out which was a blast!) through doing a panel with fellow Geek Girls PlayerTwo and Scarlet Quinn. I then attended Twinfools and Nova's panel about cosplay hate which was fantastic. These two are great panelists! Then came the Open Cosplay Competition that was based on crowd applause. Hilarity ensued and the costumes were fantastic!
At sometime(I honestly lost track of time through most of the day), the judged competition came around. I sat as a judge with twinfools
and Manny. The costumes were amazing and judging them was extremely difficult! Everyone brought their best costumes! I only wish we'd had more awards to give out to recognize all the time and effort given to each individual costume!
Toward the end of the con, I managed to buy some stuff before going to shoot with twinfools
! I can't wait to edit all the photos!
I can't express enough how fantastic everything was and how grateful I am to everyone I got to meet and hang out with! I would list them all but honestly, the list would be endless. Thank you to my fellow Geek Girls, Twin and Nova, Kassie and Gabi, Manny, all the amazing volunteers and especially to the Forest City: Anime, Cosplay and Culture club for their amazing fundraising work and their tireless hours put into to make everything go smoothly. I hope next year is even better!
